Infinity Rx flooring offers enhanced acoustic, safety, and ergonomic benefits. This product features a 5mm vulcanized composition rubber base layer that is fusion-bonded to a modern, heterogeneous vinyl sheet. It’s patented TRU technology creates a surface that reduces the risk of injury from falls and offers sound control and comfort underfoot with its engineered ability to manage energy. When Methodist Mansfield began the expansion of its existing Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), interior designer, and former pediatric nurse, Whitney Hendrickson worked with Thais Pimentel, LEED AP ID+C and Interior Designer at Perkins&Will to specify Ecore’s Infinity Rx for the project. Hendrickson recalled seeing the product in action during a tour through a Philadelphia hospital. “It was so eerie because it was unexpectedly quiet. My eyes and ears did not match up. I thought they must not have had many patients, but they did. I could see staff moving around and carts being pushed down the corridors, but I didn’t hear what I normally hear in an ICU. It didn’t feel ‘clinical’ at all—in a good way!”
